Ranking Every Neutral Site Game 2024

With the eve of college football upon us, it seems like a good time to rank all the neutral site games for the coming season. Now this will not include any of the HBCU games because quite frankly there are way too many of them this year. This will be an FBS-only list here as those games draw. These rankings are a reflection of my opinion

13. Florida State vs Georgia Tech at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland.

Simply put this game does not need to be played in Dublin. If a game later on this list was played there it would make way more sense. However, the Seminoles and Yellow Jackets get to play overseas for the Irish fans this year after Nebraska and Northwestern gave them a game. Hopefully, FSU and GT can top that performance.

12. Washington State vs Washington at Lumen Field in Seattle

The University of Washington is located in Seattle. Next

11. Texas State vs Sam Houston State at NRG Stadium in Houston

The first game features two group of 5 schools on this list. Unfortunately, only half of the stadium will probably be filled.  Nonetheless, this should be a good game as Texas State is coming off a great year and Sam Houston State is looking to build on their season from last year. However, it still seems a little weak to be held at a neutral site.

10. Notre Dame vs Georgia Tech at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta

This should be a glorified home game for the rambling wreck from Georgia Tech, however, with the seemly lack of interest from the fan base I would not be shocked if there is more of the Irish’s Navy and Gold than Tech’s. This game should’ve been just a home game for Tech.

9. LSU vs USC at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas

LSU should beat the brakes off of one of the most overrated teams going into the upcoming season. There were much more deserving opponents than USC.

8. Army and Norte Dame at Yankee Stadium in New York City

THE GAME IS CALLED THE SHAMROCK SERIES IT SHOULD BE PLAYED IN IRELAND!!!!!!

7. Notre Dame vs Navy at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford New Jersey

The final Notre Dame neutral site game on the list. It’s an actual rivalry for them however the venue is more the issue here as it does not make much sense for a site to have the game played. It would be like if Mizzou and South Carolina played each other in Denver or Phoenix. Baltimore, Indy, and Cincy all make more sense.

6. Army vs Navy at Commanders Field in Landover Maryland

This is the most prestigious game that is played all year..............and it’s being played at the worst NFL Stadium how tragic.

5. Clemson vs Georgia at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta

See number ten but a better game with way more fans.

4. NC State vs Tennessee at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte

This in my opinion is the best game on the list however other factors are keeping me from ranking it as such. Mainly the mob of angry Texans. I’ll dock it for NC State being too close? I don't know, it should be the best game played on the list.

3.Arkansas vs Texas A&M at AT&T Stadium in Dallas

As someone who has had the honor of attending a game at AT&T stadium (MIZ), it truly is an amazing stadium and the two teams on display for this game should help in that tremendously. Wait I’m being told that Mizzou and A&M are not playing here instead Arkansas and A&M are. Well, it’ll be fun, right?

2. Florida vs Georgia at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville

The World’s Largest Cocktail Party. Need I say more?

1. Texas vs Oklahoma at The Cotton Bowl in Dallas

I kind of had to put this as number one. With many different factors going into the season, this could be the most important game in the history of the Red River Shootout. Nah I’m kidding. NC State vs Tennessee is number 1 that game is just too good to not have at one and with it being Charlotte. Knoxville is just over the mountains and Raliegh being by the ocean it is the perfect meeting place for both teams and I hope it can kinder a rivalry between the two schools. If for no other reason than both schools gave me my favorite NFL QBs of all time Peyton Manning and Phillip Rivers. Oh, and another thing HORNS DOWN!
